What is a Photo Safari?
Safari: a journey or hunting expedition.
The Photo Safari Series is designed to teach photographers to see beyond the ordinary. By practicing special techniques at local, easy to access locations you will move from theory to practice. You will build skills that will serve you well wherever you go.
Knowing how to see is more important than what photographic equipment you own. I will help you learn to see what makes a great picture. You will become a better photographer using the equipment you already have!
Each safari begins with a 30 minutes discussion about techniques and equipment. We will talk about what the goals of the safari are and what ideas to keep in mind when shooting.
Following the discussion we will go to the shoot area and begin looking for subjects. The “Safari Guide” will be with the safari to assist and advise.
After the safari you will process and print your pictures. Then at a follow up meeting you will present your 6 best shots and the 6 you’d like to improve. As a group we will evaluate what makes the “best” good and how to fix the rest. |
